The Auto Body Technician will make repairs to metal, plastic, and fiberglass parts of vehicles. 

Compensation negotiated with experience

As the auto body technician, you will plan the repair work necessary using various tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle. You will hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage. You will mix and apply filler resins to repair dents when other methods are not feasible. You will realign chassis and frames to repair structural damage and remove damaged sections of the vehicles and replace with new or aftermarket parts. Replacing or repairing glass and windshields as needed and also replacing or repairing interior parts as needed. The auto body technician also welds and attaches or fits parts into place and prepares and repoints vehicle with factory-specified pain or agreed upon equivalent. You will ensure all work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repaid. 

Skills to help you succeed:
  • Ability to read job orders
  • Ability to work with other repairers within the auto body shop
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repaid vehicle body
  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trades
Education / Experience: 
  • Highschool or equivalent
  • Vocational/ technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field
  • 3 years of related experience preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical requirements:
  • Must supply your own general hand tools
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and safety inspections
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs at times
